Amina Aleem, LICSW, LCSW-C, is the Founder and CEO of Legacy Counseling & Wellness Services, a behavioral health practice headquartered in Lanham, Maryland. As a licensed clinical social worker and esteemed leader in mental health, she possesses over 15 years of experience in advancing compassionate and high-quality care for individuals, families, and underserved communities.
Her professional endeavors encompass direct clinical practice, program leadership, and large-scale systems, including child welfare, juvenile justice, and integrated behavioral health. She has held leadership and clinical positions with Kaiser Permanente, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, and Guide Program, Inc., where she has shaped programs that support children, families, and veterans.
Amina specializes in trauma-informed care, foster care and adoption services, and organizational leadership. She is trained in the Family Team Meeting (FTM) model and coaches professionals in strengthening collaborative and family-centered approaches to care. Clinically certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), she supports clients in navigating trauma, emotional regulation, and life transitions with resilience and a sense of contentment.
Amina holds a Master of Social Work degree from Howard University and is licensed to practice in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. She is a Board Certified Social Worker for Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Currently pursuing her doctoral degree at Walden University, Amina fosters environments at Legacy Counseling & Wellness Services where individuals can heal, grow, and build meaningful and sustainable well-being.
